Musicals are the ticket near Brentwood

March is proving to be a month for musicals near Brentwood.
The Stage Right Conservatory Theatre in Antioch began the month with a weekend of performances of ‘The Phantom of the Opera’. The musical will continue the second weekend in March, with shows at 7:00 pm on Friday and Saturday, March 7 and 8, and at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 9.
Performances are held at Nick Rodriguez Community Center. Tickets for the musical are $10 for general admission, $8 for seniors and students, and $5 for children. Matinee tickets are just $5 for seniors. The theater could use postcard printing to spread the word about the performances.
Another musical, ‘Hairspray’, based off of the movie by John Waters, is set to open in Antioch at the end of the week. ‘Hairspray’ opens on March 6 and runs through the 15 at the Deer Valley Theater. Tickets are $10 for general admission, $7 for students, and $5 for members.
Performances are at 7:00 pm each night. Tickets can be purchased at the door starting at 6:30 m on the day of the show or in advance online.
Lastly, the Pittsburg Community Theatre is putting on Rodger’s and Hammerstein’s classic ‘South Pacific’, starting on March 7 and continuing until March 16. Performances are at 8:00 pm on Friday and Saturdays and Sundays at 2:00 pm. Tickets $10 to $20 and are available online or in person.
