Get in shape and have fun in Brentwood

So the New Year’s resolution to lose weight fell by the wayside, the year has rolled around and now the holidays are back again. There is still time to lose some weight and get into shape for this holiday season.

The Trucks Training 14 day Fitness Challenge will help to take off some extra pounds just in time for Thanksgiving. It begins on November 5, 2012, and is only $65.

The program includes fitness classes, an assessment, nutrition guidelines, and food journal. Making wiser food choices and choosing to eat less goes a long way to keeping the weight off, and everyone wants to look good for all of those family holiday pictures.

The 30th annual Holiday Parade will be held at 2:30 pm on Saturday, November 17, 2012, in downtown Brentwood, beginning on First Street. This year’s theme is a Season of Thanks. The parade will feature local bands, car clubs, dance groups, floats, equestrian groups, and of course, Santa Claus.

The weekly Farmers’ Market in downtown Brentwood will close for the winter. November 17 will be the last day to purchase fresh, locally grown nuts, fruits, and vegetables. It will be open from 8:00 am – noon. The Farmers’ Market is located on First Street between Chestnut and Oak Streets.

As the holiday season begins, it is often a time of reflection. California residents can write down their favorite holiday memories and make copies at a printing company to send out with Christmas cards this year.
