Gala gets set to celebrate mothers

Right next door to Brentwood, the Grateful Heart Gala will be held at the Tiato Santa Monica, offering a celebratory work to see in this weekend.
Emcee for the night will be news anchor Asha Blake – a five-time Emmy Award winner. Special guest of honor for the evening is producer, writer, and anchor Michael Imperioli, who is best known for playing the role of Christopher Motisanti on ‘The Sopranos’.
Mother of the Year nominations are being accepted to honor extraordinary moms. Those looking to put their nomination forward can visit the One Heart Worldwide website to find out how to submit their entry (of 200 words or fewer) by email.
For moms who enjoy art, the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery will host its biannual benefit ‘Eat, Drink, Art’ from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm on Saturday, May 4, at the LA Municipal Art Gallery at 4800 Hollywood Blvd, just under half an hour’s drive from Brentwood.
Activities include a silent auction featuring artists Annie Preece and Wayne White. There will also be models for sketching, an opportunity to try out clay tossing, performance artists, and a chance to create a masterpiece artwork via the medium of paintballing. Perhaps local print companies will have a surge of business from people wanting professionally printed copies of their own work.
Admission is $50 for VIP tickets, which includes a preview of the silent auction, hors d’oeuvres and three drinks. General admission is $25 in advance or $30 at the door. Wine and beer will be available from the Silverlake Wine Eagle Rock Brewery.
