Festival of trees one of many festivities in Brentwood

December 1, 2012 by

With all sorts of festive fun going on, there is more than enough to keep Brentwood brochure printers busy in the run up to Christmas.

To start off the season, the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony took place yesterday, November 30, with singing, music, and Santa. The lights for the tree were turned on at 7:00 p.m. at City Park in downtown Brentwood.

Already underway is the Brentwood Festival of Trees, which also began yesterday. Decorated trees set the stage for the holiday season at the Shadow Lakes Event Center, 401 West Country Club Drive, Brentwood. The festival will be open from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm both today and tomorrow. Fourteen service and non-profit organizations decorated the trees displayed.

No holiday would be complete without strapping on some ice skates and gliding over the sparkling ice surface. Ice skating in Brentwood will be open from 12:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. through January 21, 2013 at the Streets of Brentwood, and will be a great, if somewhat chilly, way to enjoy the magic and excitement of winter.

Finally, residents and visitors who need to find just the right gift this holiday season can find it at the weekly Holiday Faire at the Shops at Fairview through January 6, 2013. Holiday hours are: 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm Fridays, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Saturdays, and 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Sundays.

With ballets on offer, and daycare drop-in places set up to let adults finish their Christmas shopping while the kids are entertained, Brentwood seems an ideal place to be this Christmas.
