17th Annual Scottish Highland Games and Gathering

On Saturday, April 21st, 2012 the 17th Annual Scottish Highland Games and Gathering will take place at the Pioneer Village Museum located at 3801 Chester Ave., in Bakersfield, California. This is an all day event from 9am to 5pm
The Kern County Scottish Society’s 17th annual Scottish Highland Games and Gathering features Scottish dancers, heavy athletic events, Celtic music, bagpipe competition and band, Scottish re-enactments, Scottish clan history, and much more. At this event there will be a number of Celtic vendors with numerous traditional and authentic products for sale, as well as vendors catering to all that is Scottish when it comes to foods and beverages. Participants are reminded to bring lawn chairs, hats, sunscreen, and sunglasses. A children’s’ play and activity area will also be available.
Printing companies may have completed the tickets for this event, as they are now available through Word Records Downtown or at the door. You can also order tickets online and pick them up at the museum entrance the day of the event. General admission to this event is $15.00 for adults, $10 for students, seniors over sixty, and military with ID, and children under 10 are admitted free. Children must be accompanied by an adult. There is an additional charge for the Ceilidh of $15.00 and the Games and Ceilidh of $25.00. The Kern Scottish Society is a non-profit volunteer run organization that is always in need of volunteer help during these events.
