Little change for Anaheim company switching hands

December 31, 2013 by

Anaheim based Midcom Corp. has been acquired by HKA Enterprises Inc., with the transaction being finalized on December 2.

Midcom employed around 1,500 people, which when added to HKA’s workforce will bring its employment totals up to approximately 6,500. Staffing company Midcom specialized in engineering and specifically technical and aeronautics staffing.

The former Midcom Corp. is now to be known as Midcom, a division of HKA Enterprises Inc. Midcom will be the parent company’s center of sales and operations for the West Coast. At the moment, there are no plans to install new executives. As is the case whenever a business changes hands and there is even a slight name change, stationery printers will probably be notified of the change. New letterheads, invoices, and business card printing orders are likely for those employees being retained.

HKA, which has offices throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico, and Canada, is a staffing company specializing in providing engineers and tradesmen for the oil, gas, engineering, IT, and manufacturing industries. With the acquisition of Midcom Corp., HKA solidifies its position as one of the key names in the country’s staffing market. The company is headquartered outside Greenville, South Carolina.

Bruce Clayman, the President of HKA, said:

“Midcom is an outstanding organization and will significantly enhance our existing turn-key staffing delivery model.”

According to Laura Long, HKA Marketing Coordinator, the company is projecting revenues in 2014 of $200m, which will be a 40% increase attributable to the acquisition of Midcom.
