Anaheim receives KISS

It was announced last Thursday that the KISS Army will be invading Anaheim in 2014 and local merchants, as well as Arena Football fans, may want to be ready. Next year, the Anaheim Honda Center will be the home of an expansion team called L.A. KISS, as Arena Football returns to Orange County.

KISS, the heavy metal band known for its cartoon-like makeup, promises to bring its own unique personality and entertainment style to the sport. Attendees of Arena Football experience the game up close compared to NFL game fans, making it a more personal experience similiar to a rock concert. Gene Simmons, KISS singer-bassist, said in a statement:

“As a fast-paced, high-action band, this partnership with the AFL was an obvious fit for us. Attending an L.A. KISS game in 2014 will be similar to a live KISS show, with thrilling, heart-pounding action.”

The L.A./Orange County area has been without an Arena Football team for five years and L.A.KISS is expected to receive a warm welcome.

A promotion of the team to the KISS Army fans is planned next year. A free concert for season ticket holders, cost $99, will be held at the Honda Center. Information regarding tickets is available at www.lakissfootball.com

Local entrepreneurs will want to tie promotions of their own products with L.A. KISS with the use of flyer printing and banners. By tapping into the intensity and excitement generated by the band and the new team, local merchants can win attendees’ dollars.
