Virginia Beach to see the light
November 20, 2012 by Mark
The holidays are almost here and almost every community in the United States is gearing up by decorating the downtown areas in order to draw people into the area. Virginia Beach is no different. McDonald’s Holiday Lights at the Beach features several light displays all along the beach, a 40-foot Christmas tree on the beach, and visits from Santa Claus and his elves. The area almost resembles a wonderland and is sure to appeal to the entire family – especially the children.
One special feature of the light display will be a ‘12 Days of Christmas’ display, featuring 20-30 foot high characters. This annual event has been named one of the ‘Top 20 November events’ by the Southwest Tourism Society. Virginia Beach printing companies will no doubt be asked to help design and create flyers which will aim to share such information with the community.
A special event to be held prior to the grand opening of the light show is Walk Through the Lights, which will take place on November 14 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Donations of any size are accepted and all proceeds will go to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Norfolk.
McDonald’s Holiday Lights at the Beach will take place on Boardwalk between 2nd and 34th Streets from tomorrow, November 21, right up until January 1, 2013, beginning at 5:30 each evening. Admission prices for those in cars are $10 from Monday to Thursday and $15 from Friday to Sunday, and all cars will receive a free CD of Christmas music. Military personnel receive a 20% discount on admission.
