This Memorial Day weekend will be a busy one in Virginia Beach, with at least three exciting events to choose from in the area.

The Steer Pier Classic and Surf Art show will feature a longboard surfing competition and an art expo. It will take place on the Virginia Beach Oceanfront between 1st and 5th Streets from May 25 – 27. For more information on this, call 757-222-2355.

Also that weekend, ‘The Salute to Summer’ will take over three parks in the city; 17th Street Park, 24th Street Park, and 31st Street Park. It will feature three stages offering different styles and eras of music, military bands, and a Heroes’ walk featuring essays written by local high school students. The exact dates for this one are May 24 – 26. More information can be found by calling 757-491-7866

Finally, the 29th annual Pungo Strawberry Festival will take place at 1776 Princess Anne Rd. It will feature a variety of activities, including a parade, food concessions, arts and crafts vendors, a petting zoo, a pie eating contest, a strawberry bake-off, a livestock show and sale, pig races, a military display, and carnival rides. It all takes place over May 25 – 26 from 9:00 am – 7:00 pm each day. Those requiring more information can call 757-721-6001.

All of these events are family-friendly ways to spend Memorial Day weekend, and no doubt organizers are advertising them with the help of services such as flyer printing from Virginia Beach printers.
