Leadership skills to learn in Virginia Beach

January 29, 2013 by

The next event in the Professional Women’s Leadership Luncheon Series will be ‘Leadership and working smart: leveraging human contact in a distracted world’. The luncheon is not only for women in business, however – all businesspersons are welcome to attend.

The speaker at the luncheon will be Courtney Lynch, who is a former Marine and the founder of Lead Star. She will be sharing her leadership experiences and will be providing strategies to those attending on how to become better leaders themselves. During lunch, a draw for two airline tickets is another thing to look forward to. Those attending are sure to learn something from Lynch that they can use in their own businesses.

This will also be an excellent networking event for Virginia Beach and area businesspersons. It is likely that many of those attending will be sorting out their business card printing beforehand, ensuring that their cards have their most current contact information and that they have plenty to distribute at the event. There will also likely be an opportunity during lunch for most people to deliver their ‘elevator speech’ – a 30-60 second commercial in which a business leader discusses their company and describes exactly what products or services it can offer to other business leaders.

The luncheon will take place at the Holiday Inn Virginia Beach – Norfolk Hotel and Conference Center on January 31 from 12:00 pm – 1:15 pm. Tickets are $30. For more information, contact Shirley Core at 757-664-2535.
