Holiday gift-buying can get underway in Virginia Beach

November seems to be the month when every community in the United States holds an arts and crafts fair and Virginia Beach is no exception. The 34th Santa’s Stocking Old Fashioned Craft Bazaar will take place at the Kempsville Recreation Center and is presented by the Special Events Office.

The bazaar will feature over 100 artists and craftspeople selling such items as Christmas decorations, toys, paintings, photographs, greeting cards, clothing, and home accessories. Each item must be handmade by the artist or crafter and the items are guaranteed to be ‘budget-friendly’.

Food sales will also be available and children can also get their pictures taken with Santa Claus. This will be a good event to either get started with holiday shopping or to finish off shopping for those hard-to-please people on a shopping list. There is sure to be something that will appeal to every member of the family.

Artists and crafters taking part in the bazaar can rent space each weekend for $125 for a single 48-50 foot space or $250 for a double space, with electrical access costing $10 extra. Those who are renting space will probably be working with Virginia Beach printing companies to prepare. A large, colorful banner will definitely draw people to a booth and might increase the chance of a sale. Also, since the banner could be used over and over again at various craft shows it would be a good investment for the future.

The bazaar will be held on November 3 – 4 and November 17 – 18 and admission is free. Call 757-385-2990 to find out more.
