The 17th annual Northern Virginia Wiffle Ball World Series will take place at Waters Field on August 4 from 8:00 am – 6:00 pm. Tickets are $5 and all proceeds go towards the 2 Young Foundation.

In addition to wiffle ball, there will be a Kids’ World area, food to purchase, celebrity appearances, and a silent auction. It will costs each team of three or four players $240 to enter and there are four categories of play: little league (grade seven and under will fees of $120 per team), minor league, major league, and master league. Kids’ World will keep youngsters who are not on a team busy while the games are going on and will have lots of fun activities, such as bounce houses and games.

Sponsorships are available for $600 to $7,500. Depending on level of sponsorship, sponsors will have their company name and logo displayed on banners throughout the park, will be recognized in the program, and will receive a mention on the 2 Young Foundation website. Vienna printing companies are likely to be providing both banners and programs to the organizers of the World Series.

The 2 Young Foundation was formed by Brian Bedell in 2004, who suffered from brain cancer and died in 2005. The foundation raises funds for brain cancer research and has generated over $250,000 in the past eight years.

Wiffle ball is a fun sport and watching a few games will make for the perfect family summer outing. The fact that it is also raising money for a very worthwhile cause makes this an event not to be missed.
