Help wanted to make Children’s Holiday Party a success

November 13, 2012 by

The Tysons Regional Chamber of Commerce is currently raising funds for its annual Children’s Holiday Party. Local business men and women are being asked to donate money or items to the Children’s Fund to make the party a huge success. Money will be used to buy and wrap gifts for children, for arts and crafts supplies and for items to place in the goodie bags given to each child.

Area businesses from towns such as Tyson’s Corner and Vienna are also welcome to donate the items themselves. They might also want to invest in flyer printing services to send an advertisement to customers telling them about the party and how they themselves can donate money or help.

Sixty children between the ages of 3 and 17 will be attending the party. The children come from homeless shelters or at-risk youth groups. Each child is provided with a snack of milk and cookies and goodie bag. Children are also given the chance to make gifts for their parents or their brothers and sisters and they are encouraged to sing holiday songs. Santa will also be talking to each child individually and giving him or her a toy each; he will also be posing for photographs with each child and children will be given a copy to take with them when they leave as a souvenir.

The 6th annual Children’s Holiday Party will take place on December 1. For more information call Tana Keeffe at 702-281-1333.
