The Health and Wellness Fair for Baby Boomers will take place on April 21 at the Vienna Community Center from 10am – 2pm. This is a free event presented by Vienna Parks and Recreation and Shepherd’s Center of Oakton-Vienna.

The fair will feature several one hour fitness classes in Tai Chi, yoga, Zumba, Zumba chair, agility, balance, and coordination. There will also be one and three mile walks. In addition, there will be several health screenings available for blood pressure, glaucoma, blood sugar, cholesterol, hearing, and memory.

The Health and Wellness Fair will feature several vendors in attendance providing information on nutrition, Parkinson ’s disease, senior health, prescription review, local transportation choices, and legal advice for seniors. These exhibitors, from the Vienna area, will more than likely provide informative literature that guests can take home with them. Brochure printers can work with the vendors to provide a compact booklet small enough to fit in a pocket or a purse. People who attend trade fairs and wellness fairs love to have something to take home and share what they have learned with their families and friends.

Baby boomers are approaching their senior years and must learn to take better care of themselves if they want to remain independent and healthy. Health and wellness fairs are a good way to become educated about choices and to be exposed to new ideas and exercise programs.
