Effective project management just a workshop away
January 6, 2013 by Sarah
Charles Prince of Jumpstart at Howard University will be holding two project management workshops in February to teach Vienna businesspeople what they need to know about the area.
The two-part workshop will introduce attendees to the project management tools that result in effective and efficient results. Those attending will learn how to apply these tools to various projects. By the end of the second workshop, participants will have drafted a project management plan that they can use in their daily work.
Project management is defined as achieving business goals through effective planning, organization, and control of resources. A competent project manager ensures that everything runs smoothly from start to finish and understands how to delegate to the right people, how to motivate their employees, and how to get the most done for the lowest cost.
The workshops might also be a great networking opportunity for Vienna business leaders who are looking to expand their referral networks. Many of those planning to attend will very likely be placing a new business card printing order in advance, ensuring that that their contact information is current, their cards are in good condition, and they have enough to hand out to everyone they meet. There will likely be time for business discussion during breaks.
The Project Management Workshop will take place at Computer C.O.R.E. on February 2 and February 9 from 2:30 pm – 5:30 pm each day. Workshop fees are $55. For more information, call 703-931-7346 x102.
