Jazz returns to Richmond this August

July 3, 2013 by

The 4th annual Richmond Jazz Festival is taking place for three days next month. Funds raised go to support the Maymont Foundation, the Richmond Public Schools Education Foundation, and Educational Learning Opportunities.

The festival will kick off on its first night with a concert at the Hippodrome Theater called ‘Homegrown at the Hipp’. The Richmond Jazz Festival will feature performances from local and international music performers such as Jill Scott, The Wailers, Michael McDonald, and Chick Corea and The Vigil. In total, over 30 acts will be performing over the three-day event.

In addition, several chefs will be holding cooking demonstrations, there will be wine tasting opportunities, food vendors, and a marketplace. It should be a great summer event suitable for the entire family.

It is up to guests to bring their own seating for the performances, and they can also rent a cabana tent for up to six of their friends when they want to get away from the sun and have some privacy.

Organizers of the jazz festival have more than likely been working with Richmond printing companies to prepare for this popular annual event. This probably includes designing and printing banners and signs for decoration, as well as advertising and booklets to provide performance schedules.

The Richmond Jazz Festival will take place at Maymont from August 9 – 11. Tickets for ‘Homegrown at the Hipp’ on August 9 are $20. Tickets for the jazz festival are $60 each day or $110 for the weekend. To learn more about the festival, call 804-646-8515.
