Get motivated at the Women’s Leadership Conference

January 20, 2012 by

The 6th annual HIGHER Ground Women’s Leadership Conference will take place at the Marriott Richmond on January 27 from 8:30 am-4:30 pm. Tickets are $115 and will include lunch.

This year’s theme is Maximizing You: Unlocking the Treasures Within. It is about living up to your full potential and helping “women to realize their full potential through self-reflection and discovery”. This year’s keynote speaker is Mary C. Doswell of Alternative Energy Solutions.

The day will feature workshops throughout the day which are designed to help you become a better you. Example workshops include:

Neither Shrill or Silent Be: Effective Communications When it Counts presented by Valerie Wallen and Aubrey Pettaway of the University of Richmond
Leadership Principles of Wise Women presented by author Kathryn Jordan
Eliminating Self Sabotage presented by Vickie Griffith
Clarity in your Financial Plan presented by Liisa Hatcher Byles

Other workshops will include advice on loving the life you live, being a more confident woman and how to let yourself be heard; things that are often hard for many women, especially those in business.

There will be a networking reception at 3:45, just before the conference closes. This will be an excellent chance to practice some of the ideas which were presented during the day. Make sure to arrange with a Richmond printing company for a business card printing order so you will have lots of cards to hand out to those you meet. A well-designed business card goes a long way in building a referral network which will help to grow your business.
