Gardening season to get off and running

March 8, 2013 by

The 29th annual Herbs Galore and More is taking place at the Maymont House Museum in late April, right in the middle of the spring growing season.

The show will feature gardening demonstrations from experts, a ‘Meet the Experts’ speaker series, and displays by junior high and high school students who took part in Herbalscapes.

The horticultural whizzes will be speaking about such topics as ‘Controlling pests in the garden’ and ‘Plant outside the box’, and there will no doubt be a talk of interest to almost everyone who attends.

In addition, there will also be a marketplace of plant and craft vendors, selling such items as trees, vegetables, herbs, and garden accessories. One vendor, One Garden to Another, will be selling recycled garden implements. All proceeds from this booth will go to support the Maymont House Museum and donations are gratefully accepted.

It is likely that the organizers of the show will work with Richmond printing companies to prepare. They might have a need for banner printing and sign printing services to advertise certain areas and events taking place. They also will possibly invest in flyer printing services to inform those in the area that the show is taking place.

Herbs Galore and More will take place on the Carriage House Lawn at Maymont on April 27 from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. Admission to the marketplace is $3 for the public or free for museum members. For more information, or to apply to be a vendor, call 804-358-7166 x310.
