Virginia’s Children Festival on its way to town

September 26, 2013 by

The Virginia Children’s Festival is one of Norfolk’s most attended and enjoyed festivals for the entire family each year. This is a full day of activities aimed at children between the ages of two and ten.

During this event, which is likely to have been highlighted with the help of a local print company and its services, people are invited to arrive in their best Halloween costumes and to take park in the Costume Parade. During the day, there will also be appearances from Scooby Doo, Yogi, George Jetson, and Jabber Jaw. Halloween stories will be read aloud by the popular character Arthur.

All children will meet Blue’s Clues favorite personality ‘Blue’ and have the chance to take a seat in her thinking chair. There will be hundreds of hands-on games and activities for the children in the Work Zone, the Neighborhood of Knowledge, the Sports Zone, the Playground, Animania, and in Toddler Town. Parents are reminded to bring their cameras and capture some great shots of their children enjoying the day. This is an outdoor event and may be cool at this time of year, so dressing according to the weather is advised.

There is no admission charge for this event, which will be happening on Saturday, October 5, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at Town Point Park located in Downtown Norfolk, Virginia. To learn more about this event, please visit the Downtown Norfolk website or call the office during regular business hours.
