July 26, 2013 by

The Shakespearean comedy ‘The Tempest’ is coming to Outdoor Theatre in this production by the Virginia Stage Company’s Artistic Director, Patrick Mullins.

The play features a selection of puppets, monsters, and surprises. Poster printing, flyer printing and other printing services by local printing companies may have been used to spread the word about this production to residents in this area.

In the story, the characters include Prospero, a magician, and his very young daughter, Miranda. They have been in exile living on a deserted and remote island. Prospero who is seeking revenge on those who have caused the exile, uses his magic to punish them. While this is happening, the guests will see many events taking place, including a shipwreck, credulous creatures and monsters, goddesses, spirits, and many other strange and whimsical entities.

For guests, besides the production, there will also be family entertainment on the grounds featuring children’s activities, and frosty glasses of craft brews, ciders, and mead, as well as a selection of Old English tasty treats before the performance begins. If the weather is bad, the show will be moved indoors.

Tickets cost $10 per adult, $5 per child 12 and over, and children under 12 are free. The Tempest is on show at the Outdoor Theatre from tonight, July 26, to Sunday, July 28 with it grounds opening at 6pm, except Sunday when grounds opens at 4:00 pm.
