Illuminative evening scheduled in Norfolk

October 30, 2013 by

The Grand Illumination Parade is designed to kick off the holiday season in Norfolk, Virginia, offering something for everyone as part of a family event. Several printing services are probably being sought right now to promote this colorful event to people all across the area.

Just in time to welcome the holiday season to the City of Norfolk, this event is set to sparkle in the dark evening hours. It starts off with the lighting of the Olde Towne Portsmouth and the downtown Norfolk skylines, and then is followed by the Grand Illumination Parade on Hampton Road.

As part of the night, a parade will have all the bells and whistles as it travels down the Main Street through to Granby Street, turning north onto Freemason Street and makes its way past Boush Street and bends around to Waterside Drive. The parade includes a giant balloon, accomplished marching bands, spectacular floats, and the jolly old man himself, Santa Claus.

Spectators will have plenty to behold as they watch storybook characters move and come to life. They can reserve viewing spots along the parade’s route, but must do it in good time. Most reserved seating is located on Main St., Granby St. and Waterside Drive.

The Grand Illumination Parade is free to attend and will be happening Saturday, November 23, beginning at 7:00 pm in on Main Street in the downtown core of Norfolk, Virginia. To reserve seating, or obtain more information, please visit the Downtown Norfolk website or call 757-623-1757.
