Fundraiser highlights local seafood

The 7th annual Virginia Roast and Toast event is taking place next month. It is a fundraising event for The Hermitage Museum and Gardens, and is hosted by the Young Associates Board.

Guests will enjoy unlimited supplies of food such as oysters, hush puppies, and barbecue. They can also try some local craft beers and wine. Music will be provided throughout the day.

Highlighted during the event will be the outdoor art installation called Stickwork, which was created by artist Patrick Dougherty. An opening reception was held for this installation earlier this month.

There will also be a silent auction, which is set to include prizes such as a behind-the-scenes tour at Norfolk Zoo (which included feeding the giraffes) and Virginia Arts Festival tickets.

Tickets to this event will include free admission to the museum, where guests can enjoy a variety of exhibitions or tour the gardens.

This Norfolk event is a popular one in the area and sells out every year. No doubt organizers send out invitations and flyers provided by local printing companies.

The Virginia Roast and Toast event will be held at The Hermitage Museum and Gardens on November 6 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. Tickets are $55 for members and $65 for nonmembers. For more information about this event, contact the museum at 757-423-2052 x 0.
