Rare glimpse of the CIA in early August
July 24, 2012 by James
The Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce is presenting lunch at Evo Bistro and a tour of CIA Headquarters on August 1 from 11:30 am – 3:30 pm. Tickets are $45 for chamber members and $55 for non-members. A bus will pick up guests at the restaurant and will drop them back there after the CIA tour. Since the CIA Headquarters is a secure location, those planning to attend must first submit their social security number and date of birth.
After lunch, guests will be taken by bus to the CIA Headquarters in Langley for a tour of the facilities. The tour, which is guided, will include the showcasing of various items and spy craft artifacts. There will be the opportunity to ask questions on the tour and, afterwards, there will be a group picture taken around the CIA seal.
As well as being an interesting look inside one of the most talked-about organizations in the country, this will also be a great networking opportunity for local business professionals. There will be lots of time, both at lunch and on the bus, to talk business and to exchange business cards. Those planning to attend from the McLean area should be smart and arrange for business card printing in advance to ensure they have enough to hand out to fellow guests. A few business cards can be placed in a purse or in a pocket for easy access and it is suggested that each person should bring at least 50 business cards with them to every networking opportunity.
