Indulge yourself with chocolate in McLean

December 18, 2011 by

The 1st annual McLean Chocolate Festival will take place on January 29, 2012 at the McLean Community Center from 12-5 pm. Admission is $1 for those six and over. The festival is sponsored by the Rotary Club of McLean and McLean Community Center. If you love chocolate this will be the place to be.

There will be vendors selling candy, cakes, cookies, ice cream, cupcakes and whatever else you can put chocolate into. To purchase items, customers purchase “taste tickets” from the McLean Rotary Club Foundation. Items for sale will be either an entire product or a sample sized product. Printing companies are probably already at work helping to design the tickets and other promotional items that will be displayed at the festival; that is any that are not made of chocolate.

Specific chocolate vendors expected to appear at the festival include C & D Sweets, Capitol Chocolate Fountains, Connie’s Chocolate Confections, Spagnvola Choclatier, Godiva Choclatier, Sprinkles Cup Cakes and the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. No doubt there will also be individual vendors who work on a smaller scale.

Chocolate is one of those things that most of us cannot live without. There is nothing that lifts the spirits more than a chocolate truffle or a chocolate ice cream cone. The McLean Chocolate Festival is sure to be a big hit among residents of McLean and nearby cities such as Washington DC. The chance there will be a second annual festival is probably a sure bet.
