Chocolate indulgence to come to McLean
December 26, 2012 by Mark
Chocolate is listed by many as their favorite sweet treat. It is one of the most versatile items that we eat and can be made into great desserts, added to main dishes, and also made into various drinks. The McLean Chocolate Festival, which is now in its second year, will highlight the many uses of chocolate and will indulge anyone’s urge for chocolate.
The festival, which is presented by the Rotary Club of McLean, drew over 3,000 visitors last year and raised money for several local charities. This year is expected to be no different, possibly attracting more people from all over the area. Those who attend the festival can take part in several chocolate-related activities, can play chocolate-related games, can sample chocolate in its various incarnations, and can, of course, take home chocolate to enjoy later.
It sounds like a great place to take the kids or that friend who calls themselves a chocolate addict. It will also be an excellent opportunity for local companies who sell chocolate items to present themselves to the community. No doubt organizers will be working with McLean printing companies to prepare for this event. Banners can highlight the various areas and chocolate vendors, while flyers can let the community know about the event.
The 2nd annual McLean Chocolate Festival will take place at McLean High School on January 27 from 11:00 am – 6:00 pm. Admission is $2 and a portion of the proceeds will go to several local charities. For more information, call Steve Richardson at 703-891-9960.
