Annual McLean Day has much to offer the family

The McLean Community Center is once again welcoming the community to the annual McLean Day celebration, which will be held this May.

The celebration will feature many family-friendly activities, including a dog show, food concessions, amusement rides, and games. Vendors will be selling such items as arts and crafts, jewelry, clothing, and home decor. There should be something at McLean Day that appeals to every taste and age.

Local vendors can rent space at McLean Day for $400 for commercial businesses and $100 for non-profit organizations. Sponsorships are also available. It is likely that many of the vendors will be availing themselves of the services of McLean print companies to inform the public about their products and services.

The official T-shirt of McLean Day will be chosen through an art contest for area middle and high school students. Submissions were accepted for the contest until April 22, with this year’s theme being ‘Celebrating our hometown since 1915’.

The art whiz whose design is chosen will receive a $100 iTunes gift card and a free amusement ride wristband. The T-shirt will be worn by McLean Day staff and volunteers, as well as printed in local newspapers.

McLean Day 2013 will take place at Lewinsville Park on May 18 from 10:30 am – 5:00 pm. Admission is free, although wristbands for unlimited amusement rides do carry a fee. For further information about McLean Day activities or to find out more about sponsoring the event, call 703-790-0123.
