Annual fundraiser to auction for worthy cause
October 29, 2013 by Max
Acting as a fundraiser for Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN), which is a Northern Virginia child abuse prevention program, the 11th annual Toast to Hope is taking place this weekend.
This year’s event will also be celebrating the 25th anniversary of SCAN of Northern Virginia. To mark the occasion, guests will enjoy a variety of gourmet food samples, wine and beer, silent auctions, and games.
Local businesses or individuals are encouraged to donate items for the auction to help make it a success. In addition, sponsorships are also available from $500 – $2,500. Sponsors who pledge their donations will be recognized at the event and will have advertisements printed in its programs. Volunteers are currently being sought to help decorate the venue, work on the Facebook page, or make calls to encourage donations for the silent auction.
SCAN offers many programs to help prevent child abuse. These include a Parent Education Program, a Public Education Program, and the Court Appointed Special Advocate Program.
This annual event will probably attract people from all over the area, including nearby McLean. It is likely that local print companies have been contacted to provide the program booklet that everyone who attends will receive.
Toast to Hope is being held at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in Alexandria on November 2 from 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm. Tickets are available for $75, $100, and $150. For more information, or to donate items for the auction, call 703-820-9001.
