Celebrate Independence Day at the heritage festival
June 25, 2012 by Sarah
The Heritage Festival and Parade will take place at Riverfront Park on July 4 from 7:30 am – 10:30 pm. Admission is free and approximately 20,000 people are expected to show up.
The day will start off with a five-mile run, beginning at Fredericksburg Visitors Center at 7:45 am. Participants pay $25 in advance or $30 on the day of the event and compete for cash prizes. The top three finishers in each category win $100 and there will also be prizes for the second and third place finishers. In addition, there will be a parade, an antique auto show, live entertainment for both children and adults, food concessions, commercial vendors, and trolley rides to George Washington’s boyhood home, where there will be kid-friendly activities, a craft show, and fireworks beginning at dusk.
Vendors and the organizers of the event will no doubt be working with Fredericksburg printing companies to prepare for the day. Print companies can provide banner printing, poster printing, and other services for reasonable prices. Vendors who take the time to decorate their area will no doubt draw more people and they can also provide those visitors with free promotional items such as catalogs, brochures, and posters. The organizers will also be looking for banners to decorate the park, posters to hang around town reminding people of the event, and flyers to deliver to homes in the community.
The Heritage Festival and Parade sounds like the perfect family-friendly way to spend time celebrating the birth of the United States.
