Arlington animals warm up for walk

The annual Animal Welfare League of arlington‘s (AWLA) Walk for Animals is returning to Arlington next month for its 18th year. Over 500 animal lovers and their dogs are expected to take part in the fun.

There are two choices of walks, with a one-mile trek or a more challenging three-miler the options. Those who wish to participate pay a fee and also raise pledges from their friends, family, and co-workers. Dogs are welcome to trot along with the walkers as well.

Anyone who raises over $250 for the event is eligible to win prizes in a VIP raffle. The walk will be followed by a festival of entertainment, food, and refreshments, all of which amounts to a great way to help the Animal Welfare League and to spend quality time with the dog.

Organizers of the Walk for Animals are likely working with Arlington printing companies to help prepare. This might include investing in such products as posters and flyers to advertise the event throughout the community and to encourage more people to participate. It might also be beneficial to provide informative brochures and pledge forms to those who wish to take part in the walk.

The 18th annual AWLA will take place at Bluemont Park on May 11 from 8:30 am – 11:30 am. Fees are $25 in advance or $40 on the day for adults, $20 for those ages 12-17, and $5 for children aged 6 – 11. All participants will receive a free T-shirt and a bandana for their dog.
