This coming year sees the 281st birthday of George Washington, Founding Father and first President of the United States. Some of the most exciting celebrations will be taking place in Alexandria, Virginia. It is likely that Alexandria printing companies will be called upon to help design and create flyers which will be sent out to inform residents of all that is taking place.

On February 16, the George Washington Birthnight Banquet and Ball will be held at Gadsby’s Tavern Museum from 5:30 pm – 11:00 pm. The evening will be set in the 18th century and will include period costume, dancing, dinner, dessert, and re-enactors dressed as the Washington family. Guests are encouraged to come in period dress. Tickets are $100 per person or $125 to dine in the same room as the Washington family or $200 to dine with the Washington’s. For more information on this, call 703-746-4242.

The George Washington Birthday 10K Classic will take place on February 17 at Eisenhower Valley from 8:00 am – 11:00 am. Those taking part will receive T-shirts, refreshments, and prizes. Entry fees are $35 or $10 for the 2-K Fun Run. For more information, contact Joe Shumard at 703-829-6640.

On February 18, the George Washington Birthday Parade will take place in Old Town Alexandria from 1:00 – 3:00 PM. To find out more about this, call 703-829-6640.

There will also be several other events taking place during these three days, including a breakfast, open houses, re-enactments, and a tea with Martha Washington. There will no doubt be something to appeal to everyone in the family.
