UD hoping people will pop along for music
November 27, 2012 by Mark
Holiday Pops III at the University of Delaware (UD) marks the third annual Holiday Concert by the MPCS and is designed for families as an afternoon event filled with music and an instrument petting zoo for the children to enjoy and learn more about. This is a wonderful musical event to add to the 2012 holiday season.
This holiday concert is suitable for children aged four and older. This year’s concert will feature many familiar holiday favorites, done as a medley, as well as the pop concert by the University of Delaware Chamber Orchestra. There will be a number of interactive performances such as the ‘Toy Symphony’ by the amazing Leopold Mozart, ‘Dr. Smith’s Horns’, ‘Three Shanties’, ‘Strings Attack’, and ‘Spectacular Clarinets’.
After the concert, the MPCS will host an instrument petting zoo, next door to Mitchell Hall, in Gore Hall from 4:30pm to 5:30pm, which is a great way to learn more about the instruments for the whole family. For people who love music, this is a fantastic way to enjoy an afternoon listening and also a great way to introduce children to the beauty of musical instruments.
Poster printing, brochure printing, and flyer printing may have been used to spread the word about this festive musical afternoon to people in this community and the surrounding areas. Family packages for four are $50 and each additional child costs only $5. Individual tickets cost $25 per adult, $20 per senior, and $10 per child.
Holiday Pops III at the UD will be happening on Saturday, December 8, starting at 3:00 pm at the Mitchell Hall located at 2600-2800 Pennsylvania Avenue in Wilmington, Delaware.
