UAA to showcase humorous Hannibal lecture
October 7, 2012 by Mark
Hannibal Buress, a standup comedian who is being presented by the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) Student Activities and the UAA Concert Board, delivers a solid routine that will have the audience roaring in their seats listening to his hilarious personal stories and spontaneous anecdotes.
New York-based, but Chicago-bred, Buress delivers his comedy routine in a unarming and relaxing style that at first stuns the audience – at least until the outrageously funny anecdotes start which are sometimes followed by personal stories, delivered in a laidback style that is occasionally interrupted by excited raves and rants.
Through his work, he has appeared as a guest on The Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and many TV shows. Even Chris Rock has praised him as one of the “funniest young comics”. A number of shows and publications have spoken highly of the funnyman and his name regularly crops on in top-ten lists of comics and standup entertainers.
With the comedian being so popular, it will be important that local people know he is on the way, so poster printing, flyer printing, and postcard printing might have been used to advertise and promote this stand-up comedian to residents in the local community. Tickets are $20 in advance or$25 at the door. Hannibal Buress will be performing on Wednesday, October 10, starting at 7:30 pm at the UAA Wendy Williamson Auditorium located at 3211 Providence Drive in Anchorage, Alaska.
