Salsa set to spice up Alaska

July 1, 2013 by

The Alaskan Salsa Festival gets underway this evening and is being presented by Alaska Dance Promotions and provides people with a great change to meet other people, enjoy some dancing, and have a good time.

The aim of this festival is to encourage people to stay fit, and there will no doubt be some promotional and informational literature for guests to take home with them, perhaps produced with the help of local brochure printers.

During this event, there will be a number of dance showcases, workshops, and banquets. Dancers from around the world will take part in salsa competitions. Throughout the event, people will be able to benefit from some experienced instructors, perhaps while looking for a little romance and gaining a lot of friends.

Passes to this event cost $101 per person in advance or $200 at the door. The dancing extravaganza gets underway today, August 1, starting at 7:00 pm and also runs on Friday, August 2, from 11:00 am to midnight at the Hotel Captain Cook located at 939 W. Fifth Avenue in Anchorage, Alaska. For additional details, or to check out the schedule of performances, please visit the Alaska Salsa Festival website or call 907-336-0333.

As an additional feature, on the Saturday evening, there is a Bachata Concert taking place at the Captain Cook Hotel with concert and dancing, at a price of $50. There will also be an exclusive show at the Platinum JAXX, for which guests must be older than 21 to attend.
