Paws for thought at Anchorage event

The Bear Paw Festival begins tomorrow and promises to be a fun and entertaining festival for the whole family, no matter what their age.

This four-day festival is presented by the Chugiak-Eagle River Chamber of Commerce with the theme ‘Roundup at the Bear Paw Corral’. Flyer printing, banner printing, and poster printing were most likely used to advertise this fun family event to people in this community and the surrounding regions.

This is a fundraising festival to benefit the BBQ Carrs and includes events such as the Friday Teddy Bear Picnic, the Slippery Salmon Olympics, a 5K event and a duck race. There are also a host of other events being held over the weekend, including the much-anticipated Bear Paw Grand Parade and the Bear Paw Royalty Pageant.

This year’s entertainment features the Golden Wheel Carnival, an ice cream eating contest, and a dog and owner lookalike contest, so needless to say dogs are welcome. A doggy watering station is available as well. Shuttle services are available and people can expect more entertainment, as well as fine foods, and an assortment of vendors.

The Bear Paw Festival is free to attend and is happening from Thursday, July 11 until Sunday, July 14 at various hours and locations in the Anchorage, Alaska community. To view the schedule of events, as well as the locations at which they are happening, visit the Bear Paw Festival website or call the Chugiak-Eagle River Chamber of Commerce during business hours.
