Anchorage to enjoy its outdoors this month

December 2, 2012 by

Winter Wonderland Walk and Community Tree Lighting is slated to kick-off the holiday season in Anchorage and will be hosted in the downtown core of Eagle River Commons. This is a fantastic family outing that features something for everyone to enjoy and a special way to share the spirit of the season by assisting with non-perishable food donations and family gifts.

This year, non-perishable foods can be dropped off at E.R. Food Pantry and the donation of toys and gifts will be collected at the Sleeping Lady Lions. All families have to do is bring the unwrapped gifts and canned goods to the event. The annual tree lighting ceremony will be held in the Commons, while the elementary school choirs from this area sing some of the classic and traditional Christmas carols.

There will be a visit by Santa and all his reindeer, as well as sleigh rides drawn by horses, plenty of activities for the kiddies, and lots of treats. This food and gift drive is to help those in need during this time of year. Bus and motor coach parking is available for large groups that wish to join in. The official tree lighting ceremony will take place at 7:00 pm.

Digital flyer printing is just one of the ways in which Christmas events like this can be advertised locally. The Winter Wonderland Walk and Community Tree Lighting will be happening on Friday, December 7, starting at 5:30 pm in Eagle River Commons located in the downtown of Anchorage, Alaska.
