Anchorage to be in stitches with upcoming event

January 5, 2013 by

‘Paint and Stitch’, scheduled to take place in under a week’s time, is a full evening of winter entertainment that will enable guests to share time with friends enjoying plenty of food and fun. This non-classroom atmosphere offers open social time for people working at all levels. The host for this session is Kurt Jacobson, who will be providing easels for participants to work on their latest masterpieces.

Poster printing and flyer printing may have been used to promote this social evening to all painters and stitchers. Donna Jacobson will host the ‘Stitch in the Back’ workshop and assist people with knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching, and locker booking. Guests will need to bring their own supplies to both the painting session and the stitching session. While enjoying this relaxing atmosphere by the fire, guests are reminded to share ideas, tips, and techniques with the other guests who attend. There will be some beginner stitch kits available for those who are new to this type of work.

There is no cost to attend this wonderful evening, although guests are reminded to bring supplies from home, as well as a dish or snack that can be shared. The Paint and Stitch will take place next on Friday evening, January 11, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Arctic Rose Gallery and Art Center located at 423 W. 5th Avenue in Anchorage, Alaska. Additional evenings are available every second and fourth Friday of January, February, and March. For additional information, please visit the Arctic Rose Art Center website or call the office at 907-279-3911.
