Nominations are being received for H. Howard Flint II Pressroom Manager of the Year, announced the Web Offset Association. The award gives recognition to supervisors and pressroom managers who have provided excellence in their industry and have made vast contributions to the printing industry and the print or design franchise they work for, not to mention the customers they serve. It is named after H. Howard Flint II, Chairman, Flint Group.

A committee will select the winner where they shall have it presented at the Offset & Beyond Conference for 2012. The conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency at the Arch in St. Louis, Missouri. Besides being honored for contribution to the industry, a conference package will be awarded to the winner who will also be given a $2,000 check to sponsor any graphic arts school they wish.

Past winners include John Gaspari, Steve Buechel, Steve Richardson, Scott Robinson, and Philip E. Archer.

Any one nominating an individual they deem worthy of the honor must include detailed information such as their involvement in the industry, any achievements they have made in their professional career, industry certifications and honors they have received and how long they have been serving the industry for. The award comes with a certain degree of prestige and isn’t taken lightly so the individual must be considered a deserving candidate.

Nominations have been accepted since February 1 but now the criteria is now available online with the deadline on Friday March 2. The WOA website is receiving nominations at www.printing.org/weboffsetassociation.
